East Donegal Township
The building addition consolidates the public entrances and lobbies into a unified, secure space and provides direct access to the public meeting room. The lobby is flanked by controlled entrances to the police station and the municipal offices. The dark interior environments of the original 1975 building are replaced with vaulted ceilings, clerestory windows and skylights that flood the interior with natural light. Public meeting room design provides dual projection screens for presentations and stackable seating to allow for multi-purpose use. Community groups use the lobby and meeting room since it can be secured from the rest of the building. Pleasant working environments increase the productivity of the staff.
“The interior floor plan segregates specific uses for security purposes and interior finishes are warm and welcoming to the community. They were able to take the project, initially estimated to be $4.5M to $5.8M, to the final cost of $3M. Their work was exemplary.”
