David M. Mayer House
This 1867, National Register of Historic Places listed, farmhouse stood empty for several years along Fruitville Pike. After a $1.1 M addition and renovation of the 5,800 SF space, this historic farmhouse was adaptive reused from a private residence to a real estate office for Howard Hanna, utilizing Federal Historic Preservation tax credits.
The 3-story brick building was restored to capture and highlight the late Victorian, Italianate architectural style. The elevator and ramp additions provide full accessibility to the building, while remaining historically sensitive to the Italianate style including historic reference detailing to blend old with new.
The restored entry vestibule doors open to a central hallway and the beautifully restored wood plank floors, main stairway, the plastered arched openings and transoms above the interior doors.
