Tec Centro
Transforming blighted buildings to community assets is Hammel Associates’ and SACADC’s specialty. The Tec Centro programs will respond to the needs of the Hispanic population and provide bi-lingual workers to local businesses.
The 15,300 GSF training center is designed to accommodate specific programs—each with appropriate up-to-date commercial equipment: machine maintenance and repair; culinary arts; office administration; computer operator; customer service; clinical nursing assistants; and dental assistants.
The culinary arts program features a full commercial kitchen, a classroom that can be converted to a café and an outdoor dining area. Boasting five commercial dental stations, the dental assistant suite is fully outfitted as a commercial dental office.
Since multi-use spaces are critical, the training elements for the machine maintenance and repair program are movable and the space can be restructured for carpentry, electrical and HVAC construction and repair training. Five computer-capable classrooms are adaptable to accommodate current programs and provide flexibility for future programs.
